Who are administrators?
For the purposes of this web site we are defining ‘Administrators’ as those people who typically are responsible for the deployment and ongoing maintenance of hardware and software infrastructure including the storage. They could even be a Data Czar.
The Administrator’s View
The various DataFrameworks screens provide system administrators with a comprehensive view of all data under their control irrespective of the location or attributes. These views may be in a conventional ‘explorer’ style or in graphical form e.g. Partitions charts or Bar Graphs.
Simple Administrative Interface
DataFrameworks provides a simple administrative interface to help simplify the task of data and system administration. This enables tasks such as managing storage utilization at a project or a business level, identifying rogue data, monitoring partition consumption as well as improving backup policies.
Transparency
Because DataFrameworks is a self contained software layer on top of the component that utilizes an organisation’s own system infrastructure, it does not change or interfere with any file system or structure. As a result the complete DataFrameworks software may be added or removed at any time without affecting the day to day operation of the system or infrastructure.
